Lindlatecba - Many people are nervous when they have to speak in public, or if suddenly broke down on payday is still far away. But with certain people, the anxiety they feel is so common that it takes over their lives. How to distinguish?

Actually it is not easy to distinguish the anxiety that is felt every day from that experienced by people with anxiety disorders (anxiety disorder). Because this disorder is often seen in various forms such as panic attacks, phobias or social anxiety. The difference between anxiety disorders and ordinary anxiety is not so clear.

As a guide, just pay attention to 12 symptoms of anxiety disorders below and if you feel it, contact your doctor immediately.

1. Excessive worry

One of the most striking symptoms of generalized anxiety disorder (GAD) is excessive worrying about things that are encountered everyday, whether big or small. But the excessive levels referred to in patients with GAD is to have concerns constantly almost every day for six months.

And so worried, usually this condition will disrupt the daily activities of the sufferer. Sometimes this is also accompanied by other symptoms that easily look like fatigue.

2. Insomnia

Difficulty falling asleep or often waking up during sleep can be associated with various health problems, both physical and psychological. But if you stay awake for a long time and continue to feel worried or anxious about specific problems (like money) or even for no apparent reason, this could be a symptom of an anxiety disorder.

It is estimated that almost half of people with GAD have problems with sleep. Other symptoms, you wake up in a state of not sleepy, your mind is like racing with something and you are not able to calm yourself.

3. Fear that does not make sense

When someone feels anxious, what he usually refers to is a certain situation or object such as fear of flying, certain animals or fear of crowds. But if the fear becomes excessive, disturbs the mind and exceeds the proportion of the actual risk, then this is a symptom of phobias, a form of anxiety disorder.

But even though phobias are actually quite 'crippling' people who experience them, this condition is not always visible all the time. The fact is that this phobia will not arise until the person is facing a certain situation and knows if they are unable to overcome the fear they feel.

4. Muscle tightening

Tense muscles, whether it's while jaw or clenched fists, usually do often 'accompany' sufferers of anxiety disorders. These symptoms occur so often that people who experience them will no longer know the difference.

This condition can actually be controlled by regular exercise, but the muscles will tighten again if an injury or other unexpected event interferes with the patient's training session.

5. Chronic digestive disorders

Anxiety disorders may only be a mental problem, but this will be seen in the body of the sufferer, including with chronic digestive disorders that are irritable bowel syndrome (IBS). IBS is characterized by abdominal pain, cramps, bloating, constipation, and / or diarrhea.

IBS is not merely related to anxiety disorders, but both often occur together and can worsen each other's conditions.

6. 'Stage fright'

Naturally, everyone feels stage fright before speaking in public, but if the fear is so strong that no one can relieve it, or you spend a lot of time just worrying about it, you could be affected by social anxiety disorder (or social phobia).

People with social phobia tend to feel worried for days before certain events or situations. Even if they get through it, there is still an uncomfortable feeling that hangs in their hearts for a long time, especially curious about what other people judge themselves.

7. Feeling cared for and valued by others (self-consciousness)

People with anxiety disorders are not always good at talking or being the center of attention. But they often feel all eyes are on him or suddenly embarrassed, shivering, nauseous, sweating and stuttering by themselves.

I was so annoyed, these symptoms often make it difficult for sufferers to meet new people, maintain relationships with others or make progress at work or school.

8. Panic attacks

Not everyone who has a panic attack must have an anxiety disorder, but people who experience it repeatedly can be diagnosed with panic disorder. They will continue to live in fear if at any time there is another attack and they tend to avoid places where panic attacks have happened before.

9. Often haunted by flashbacks of events in the past

Remembering a traumatic event such as abuse or sudden death from a loved one is a major symptom of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), whose symptoms are similar to anxiety disorders.

This has been proven in a study published in the Journal of Anxiety Disorders in 2006. According to this study, sufferers of social anxiety also experience flashbacks like PTSD patients but not merely because of trauma, for example because of public humiliation. They also tend to avoid things that remind them of that.

10. Perfectionists

"If you continue to blame yourself or you are often anxious or afraid of making mistakes or doing something below your own standards, then you may be affected by anxiety disorders,".

Perfectionists are also found in many obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) sufferers, which is the same as PTSD which is often seen as a symptom of anxiety.

11. Behave compulsively

In order to be diagnosed with OCD, a person must have a high obsession and intrusive thoughts, in addition to compulsive behavior, whether it is his mental state (telling himself that everything will be okay repeatedly) or his physical condition (too often washing hands or justifying clothes).

Obsessive thoughts and compulsive behaviors will become complete anxiety disorders if the condition starts to drive your life path.

12. Not Confident

Continuous not confident is one of the most common symptoms in people with anxiety disorders, including GAD and OCD. In certain cases, the doubt will dwell on questions about the identity of the person concerned, for example 'Do I love my husband as much as he loves me?'
